The Hyundai Sonata SE

The Hyundai Sonata SE opens the lineup and includes features modern, young drivers will enjoy, like 16-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, and an enhanced 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display. A six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, proximity keyless entry, and a crisp Rear View Monitor with Parking Guidance are also standard outfittings – quite impressive for a base trim level.

The SE trim delivers greater peace of mind with SmartSense safety features and standard Hyundai Bluelink® services. Bluelink® gives you data such as a monthly vehicle health report and provides security through automatic crash notifications.

Appealing interior features aren’t the only compelling perks of this model. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. For this entry-level model, lightweight front-wheel drive is the sole drivetrain option.

The Hyundai Sonata SEL

As we move up the list of 2025 Hyundai Sonata trims, we find more bold and refined features. For one, the SEL offers AWD – something the base model does not. The wheels on the SEL also bump up one inch, offering drivers a 17-inch set rather than the 16-inch on the previous model. The power side mirrors get a heated function, and you’re treated to a whisper-quiet cabin with added acoustic film front door glass.

Drivers get to experience more customizable comfort with an eight-way power-adjustable seat rather than six-way, heated front seats, and two-zone climate control. An auto up and down feature makes getting fresh air as easy as a quick tap of a button, and paddle shifters add to the SEL’s sporty and elegant feel.

The Hyundai Sonata SEL Convenience

As the name of the SEL Convenience trim suggests, this model epitomizes seamless operation, near-endless convenience, and intuitive controls. As we compare the Sonata SEL vs. SEL Convenience, we see a big improvement in its immersive cabin. The SEL Convenience gets all the features from the SEL model but adds more appealing, premium features.

So, which Hyundai Sonata trim has a sunroof? The SEL Convenience does exactly that, letting in natural sunlight and fresh air with the touch of a button. Crisp LED interior lights can help the little ones safely usher into the sedan after a night at the movie theater or other adventure, and your instrument cluster gets a big upgrade from 4.2 inches to a 12.3-inch display.

Hyundai Digital Key 2 allows you fine-tuned control over your driving experience with more unlock and lock functions – right from your phone. Other added features with the SEL Convenience trim include an Auto-Dimmin Rearview Mirror, wireless device charging, Dynamic Voice Recognition, and navigation.

The Hyundai Sonata SEL Hybrid

The SEL Hybrid is the first hybrid available in the selection of Hyundai Sonata trim levels. This model delivers many of the same features as the gas-powered SEL, including premium cloth upholstery, heated front seats, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. However, it boosts the perks a little to align with its futuristic performance. On its exterior are special eco-spoke design wheels. Inside are the perks from the SEL trim level, like two-zone climate control and proximity key entry.

The benefits of the SEL Hybrid don’t end there. You’ll also get a fuel-sipping powertrain, which operates with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine producing 192 horsepower and ramping your Hyundai Sonata MPG up more than the gas-powered options are capable of. As a result, this model delivers an EPA-estimated 44/51/47 MPG (City/Highway/Combined),1 keeping you on the road more and at the gas pump much less.

The Hyundai Sonata N Line

The Hyundai Sonata N Line is a sporty member of the lineup of Hyundai Sonata trims, and it brings appealing, track-ready features to this youthful sedan.

As the sportiest of the Hyundai Sonata trims, the unique Sonata N Line is powered by a fierce 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that lays down a thrilling 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. This huge power increase doesn’t demand a huge MPG decrease; the Sonata N Line delivers an EPA-estimated 23/32/27 MPG (City/Highway/Combined)1.

To complement the power, the N Line trim takes the standard features of the SEL Convenience trim level and adds an N Line Unique rear and front fascia details, Gloss Black window surround moldings and side mirrors, fender-mounted turn signals, a sport-tuned suspension, and unique N Line upholstery with microfiber inserts. Unique 19-inch wheels, a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, a 12-speaker premium Bose® audio system, and many other N-inspired design accents round out this trim’s selection of features.

The Sonata N Line also adds a standard Highway Driving Assist to the Hyundai SmartSense package.

The Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid

The Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid

With the Limited Hybrid, we’ve made it to the Hyundai Sonata top trim. If you’re looking for the most exclusive features available in the lineup of 2025 Sonata trim levels, then the Limited Hybrid is the model for you. You’ll get the same power, performance, and MPG as the previous trim, the SEL Hybrid, but with enhanced features.

Inside, the premium cloth upholstery gets swapped out for leather seating. Your leather-wrapped steering wheel is now heated, and ventilated front seats help you and your passenger cool off during oppressive summer days.

Greater peace of mind awaits with the Limited Hybrid trim, which adds these SmartSense features:

  • Blind-Spot View Monitor
  • Surround View Monitor
  • Remote Smart Parking Assist
  • Parking Distance Warning
  • Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Power: How Does It Work?

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Power: How Does It Work?

With our Hyundai Sonata trim comparison complete, it’s time to move our attention to another aspect of the model: electric power. The Hyundai Sonata trim levels include two hybrid variants that swap out their gas-only powertrains for hybrid options, which work to improve your MPG ratings and reduce emissions in the environment.

These mild-hybrid variants don’t need to get plugged in to get a recharge, which means you won’t even need to think about charging. You’ll simply hop behind the wheel and reap the benefits of its mild-hybrid system. This system works by using regenerative braking, which converts kinetic energy captured from the braking system every time it gets engaged. This energy is then stored in its 270-volt lithium battery.

Want to get your firsthand look at one of our hybrid options? Schedule an appointment with our Jim Ellis Hyundai specialists to embark on a journey toward fewer emissions and smaller gasoline costs.

Available Hyundai Sonata Trim Packages

Although every Hyundai Sonata trim is packed with impressive features, we understand wanting to outfit your model with even more impressive features. For this model year, there is a single additional package you can outfit on the SE, SEL Hybrid, and Limited Hybrid trims: the Winter Weather Package. Add interior floor liners and front and rear mudguards to your model with this package.

The SEL, SEL Convenience, and N Line trims do not offer additional packages, but you can upgrade select trims with accessories like wheel locks, mudguards, a cargo tray, and other flexible cargo solutions. If you’d like a closer look at how the packages, accessories, and features compare across the lineup, visit Jim Ellis Hyundai to compare Sonata SEL vs. Limited Hybrid vs. SE models. We will help you review the Hyundai Sonata trim features to find the model that most aligns with your vision of an ideal, connected drive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the top trim level for the 2025 Hyundai Sonata?

The top-level 2025 Hyundai Sonata trim is either the N Line, for those who want a gasoline-only powertrain, or the Limited Hybrid, for those who are looking for increased fuel efficiency. In addition to a 192-horsepower hybrid engine, the 2025 Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid has leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, a Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

Do the Hyundai Sonata trims have cooled seats?

The 2025 Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid, a top-level trim, comes with ventilated front seats so that you don’t have to sink down onto hot leather in the middle of a Georgia summer. These climate-controlled front seats can be heated, too, but you might save that function for traveling up north for the holidays. Our team would love to demonstrate these cooled seats during your test drive.

What is the difference between the Hyundai Sonata SEL vs. Hyundai Sonata SEL Convenience?

The SEL and SEL Convenience are feature-rich and tech-savvy trims, but the SEL Convenience offers a little more. The SEL introduces heated power side mirrors and reprieves from road noise with acoustic film front door glass, but the SEL Convenience adds LED interior lights, a panoramic sunroof, wireless device charging, Dynamic Voice Recognition, enhanced navigation capabilities, and much more. Compare the two in-person in our showroom.
