As the base model, the 2023 Hyundai Sonata SE offers the highest fuel efficiency of the five trims. It comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. It earns an EPA-estimated 28/38/32 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).1

Next in line is the 2023 Hyundai Sonata SEL. This trim also comes with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 191 horsepower. It offers slightly less fuel efficiency than the base trim, with an EPA-estimated 27/37/31 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).1

The 2023 Hyundai Sonata SEL Plus comes with a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, which generates 180 horsepower, 195 pound-feet of torque, and an EPA-estimated 27/37/31 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).1

The fourth trim, the 2023 Hyundai Sonata N Line, takes performance up a notch with a 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, offering more thrills with 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. The new Hyundai Sonata MPG for the N Line comes in at an EPA-estimated 23/33/27 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).1

The last gas-powered trim in the 2023 Hyundai Sonata lineup comes with the 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, rendering an EPA-estimated 27/37/31 MPG (City/Highway/Combined).1

All trims of the Hyundai Sonata come standard with a 15.9-gallon fuel tank, except the base SE model, which features a 14.8-gallon fuel tank.
