2026 Palisade vs. 2025 Palisade Trims

2026 Hyundai Palisade vs. 2025 Hyundai Palisade Specs

Starting with the 2025 Hyundai Palisade engine specs, this three-row SUV is powered by a 3.8-liter V-6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain makes up to 291 horsepower, and the transmission offers paddle shifters for manual shifting when desired.

Fuel efficiency is capable for an SUV of this size, with up to 19/26/22 MPG (City/Highway/Combined)1 with front-wheel drive. All models except the top-tier trim, Calligraphy Night, have a choice of FWD or AWD, while the latter variant has AWD standard. The 2025 Hyundai Palisade can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.

The 2025 Palisade has seating for up to eight passengers, depending on the trim level. Its three rows of seating feature flexible folding configurations to store large cargo and passengers at the same time, or all rear seats can be folded down to give you up to 86.4 cubic feet of space.

How the 2026 Palisade Compares

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade introduces some new powertrain specs. It starts with a smaller 3.5-liter gas V-6 engine that makes up to 287 horsepower – slightly less than its 2025 sibling – and is also paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can also choose between FWD and AWD for the 2026 model, although the trim lineup has changed a bit. Although this engine is smaller, the 2026 Palisade can still tow up to 5,000 pounds.2

A new hybrid option will be available for the 2026 Hyundai Palisade, featuring a 2.5-liter turbocharged I-4 hybrid gas/electric engine that produces up to 329 combined horsepower. This powertrain is estimated to be able to tow up to 4,000 pounds,2 but we're still waiting to learn estimated fuel economy ratings.

The 2026 Palisade redesign will result in a larger body overall and will retain the options to seat up to seven or eight passengers, depending on the trim level. Although the SUV is slightly bigger, the increase in maximum cargo capacity is marginal, with this model offering 86.7 cubic feet of space.

With a less powerful standard engine, not much of an increase in storage space, and an expected higher MSRP, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade looks incredible, but the 2025 Palisade offers more oomph and value in comparison.

For drivers who want a feature-rich SUV without the wait or the added cost of a new redesign, the 2025 Palisade is a smart and timely choice. You'll enjoy robust performance, advanced tech, and a wider selection of trims – without paying a premium.
