Still craving higher numbers on the Hyundai Sonata MPG? Meet the hybrids. The Hyundai engineers began creating hybrid variants for the Hyundai Sonata way back in 2011; you could say they were ahead of their time. Now, the hybrid models are more luxurious, powerful, and efficient than ever before. If you want to make the most of your gas tank and help make the Earth a little more green, we invite you to check out the three Hyundai Sonata Hybrid variants. They are:

How Does the Hyundai SONATA MPG Affect Power?

This is a great question. Often, people don't know how exciting it can be to drive a hybrid or fuel-efficient car. Excitement is part of the package with the Hyundai Sonata. Read below to learn more about the powertrains that match the above Hyundai Sonata MPG estimates:

  • The Hyundai Sonata trims: There are three powertrain options for the Hyundai Sonata trims. The first is a turbocharged 1.6L engine that gets 180HP. That powertrain is standard on the Limited and SEL Plus trims. The Hyundai Sonata SE and SEL trims come standard with a 2.5L engine that provides 191HP. Both of those variants will give you plenty of acceleration and pep in your step. Want more passing power? The N-Line (which still has great Hyundai Sonata MPG numbers) is a 2.5L turbo engine that ups the ante with 290HP. You'll never sacrifice fun for efficiency.

  • The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid trims: All three of the hybrid variants have the same powertrain. And even though these are hybrid vehicles, the power numbers don't lag behind at all. Each one is powered by a 2.0L 4CYL engine combined with an electric motor to give you 192HP. Unlike others, these hybrids also offer a standard six-speed automatic transmission that is praised for its smooth shifting.

Whoever told you that you can't get great fuel economy and a fun-to-drive car in the same package clearly hasn't met the Hyundai Sonata yet.
